Who is Thea Reyes?
Oh boy... she is too many people with too many ambitions. She is an artist, web/graphic designer, photographer and model.

Someone who makes bestfriends with her computer rather than a real person who you can take to the movies or for a walk in the park.

What is your favorite discipline in art?
I love to doodle, and many of my doodles... well, they are not cosidered doodles by others because I put alot of time into them and eventually turn them into paintings when I have the time.

Currently I just came to the realization that drawings are not the final product.. they are just your study for the final project. Which in turn means, I MUST paint them to a finalized product of my talent.... and also to make any kinda of money... if at all :-P

What is your most important goal in life?
Right now its to get through college and eventually do something I like for a living.

oh and getting my own car...

If you could have just one wish; what could it be?
It would be to get myself published somewhere.... anywhere... or put
in a gallery. (Now, you are.)

If you could meet anyone living or dead; who would that be and why?
I dont know the names of these wonderful people but if you are at all familiar with HeavyMental, the art magazine, particularly the ones that were printed in the 70's, I would die a happy girl to meet any or all of the artists that were published in that time because I find them to be very inspiring for my goals with my artistic talent.

If you had to live in one room for your entire life, what would it look like?
It would be the size of a living room.... NO electronics....

Have you ever gone living without electronics in your life such as a phone, computer, things of that nature? for say about more than a week?

Well I find it to be the most blissful and non stressful thing that could happen! But back to the room, it would have everything that I would need to do traditional art and a bed... maybe a window too... Oh yeah, and a door.

If you had to live in one room for your entire life, what would it look like?
The one room that i would have would be a room with a view of a great nature reserve. Have a stove , a refrigerator and guitars.

Does modeling give you an edge when creating pieces of art?
It does and it doesnt. It does because Ii know I am helping someone
create an image that is considered art and very beautiful.Something I would be proud of to say yes that is me and didn't the photographer do
a beautiful job? And it isn't an edge... because well its not my work so I can't use it to create my own.

Thats why I am a photographer now so I can take all those images that I can never use and create them myself.... oh the joy ;)

Why "Thy Minds Eye"?
Thy Minds Eye, or Your Minds Eye, was concieved because... well I feel as though my talents can help others achieve the desired effect in any project that could be colaborated with someone else.

I usually have a very bad case of artist block half the time, so I have these long periods of time where its not used... and during those times someone might come along and use those talents by asking me to do something for them. So thats why its Thy Minds Eye.

Who have been some of your main influences as an artist and as a person?
I really enjoy trying to mimic some of the things MC Escher does, but can never get it right because I do not have the intensive training in drafting like he did. Plus I think he is just a very cool artist and someone everyone should at least read up on. Very interesting man!

Finish the following statement: Good artists borrow, great
artists... have ideas and techniques.. I know I either help a project or do a trial run on how well I can recreate what someone I think that is much more talented than I, just to see if I can do it.

Where do you see yourself 10 years from now?
I can see myself working a normal day job and being a starving artist on the side, or a high school teacher yelling at the students who choose to take art class a blow off class. Then sit there going.. this is absolutely hopeless... and failing all the kids i really didn't like just so i can be evil ;)
