Interview by: silverio pantalla

Who is the Staysi Lynne?
I think of myself as a multi-dimentional person. I love everything about life, and I always accept the good with the bad. I believe that there's always something to learn from every experience, and I just hope that I'm fortunate enough to be aware of those lessons. And this may sound odd, but I love to be proven wrong because it only means that I'm that much more educated. And you ask, who is Staysi Lynne? Well, honestly, aren't we always forever searching for ourselves?

Is modeling all that you thought it would be?
Modeling is much more than what I thought it would be. I remember going to countless angencies as a child, constantly being regected; and i think that had a large effect on my perspective of the business.

I began to forget all the reasons why I wanted to be a part of it in the first place. I wanted to model because I wanted a chance to act, to be someone else, to put on a performance. Once I actually got the chance to be in front of the camera, I no longer remembered why I wanted to do it.

By that time, I simply wanted to do it because being able to do it had become a challenge for me, and it had become something I just wanted to accomplish. I think it all happened the way that it did for a reason because once I was able to, I realized that modeling is really about being your self... about being able to come out of your shell and reveal your inner emotions to the camera.

Modeling definitely helped me to let go of whatever shyness I had left in me. It gives me energy and empowers me to be everything I want to be.

Why do you say: "My dreams are only glimpses of my future" ?
I grew up as a "dreamer," always wanting to be everything. I wanted to be an actress, a model, a writer, a filmaker, a psychologist. I still want to be all of those things, only now I realize that my amibitions are not dreams at all, but rather possibilities for my future.

Over the years, I have learned that anything can be accomplished, and I really mean that. I know now that I can truly do anything that I want to, and I will.

Therefore, I think of my life in this way: every time I dream about doing something, I know that it will be done; and so, that dream is not a dream at all. It is simple just a glimpse of my future.

Why child psychology?
Children touch my heart in a way that only children know how to. They think so differently than we do, and it really intrigues me. I'm always so interested in what they will say next; and as a child psychologist, I can listen to them all the time!

What would be the ultimate (or dream) magazine photoshoot?
Well, I always believed that the only way to get the perfect shot is to be in utter pain, which means doing something that most models do not want to do. And so, the ultimate magazine photoshoot for me would have to be in a setting that is so extreme that I know I'm getting a special shot out of it.

If you could meet anyone living or dead; who would that be and why?
I am a HUGE Oprah fan and there is truly no one else in the world who I would rather meet, even if they could tell me my future or answer any question that I want. Oprah has the biggest heart that I've ever known, and it would be an honor to even be in her presense.

If you had to choose one outfit: what would it look-like?
As much as I like dressing up, pretty heels and all the good stuff, I really would have no idea. Although, I do love everything that Carrie Bradshaw wears on Sex And The City.

Why the Chinhoyi Orphanage in Zimbabwe?
I knew that I most definitely was going to donate the proceeds from the calendar to someone, but I really had no clue who. That was until I was watching Oprah one day, and the show was about South African orphans. It was truly heartbreaking, but I knew then exactly where I wanted that money to go.

I did some research on the internet because I want the money to go directly to the orphange, and it's difficult to find a place to do that. But I recieved an e-mail from a woman who lived there for quite some time, and she recommended that specific orphanage.

357?
Oh my.... what a funny question. 3 is my favorite number because when I was a child I didn't have a favorite number. And so, one day I asked my mom what hers was, and she said 3. So that one has stuck with me every since. 5 because the number feels so complete to me. It reminds me of balance. And finally, 7 because i think the word, seven, is beautiful.

Who have been some of your main influences as a model and as a person?

I don't think I've had any influences as a model, at least none that I can think of at this moment. Although as a person, I have had several.

The friends that I've had throughout my life have probably been the biggest influence of them all. They taught me so much about how to view life and how to always be myself.

Where do you see yourself 10 years from now?
As far away as 10 years sounds, I know it's right around the corner. I would love to be a well known name by then, but I just hope that where ever I am, I'm happy... with babies!!
