Interview by: silverio pantalla How
long have you been a model and what made you decide to become a model?
I've been modeling for just over three years now. A friend wanted some
designer tee-shirts modeled and the photographer was impressed with my ability
to pose without prompt, so it all went on from there. What
is it like to be a model in Australia?
SLOW with a capital
'S'. Australia is very under populated especially the west coast where I live.
The rate of pay for modeling is also very low in comparison. If it wasn't for
global exposure on the Internet I guess I'd still be sitting on my thumbs. It's
a lovely country though with beautiful scenery and a warm climate, ideal for outdoor
photo shoots especially on some of our beautiful isolated beaches. What
projects do you feel best describes you as a model? I love
all types of modeling but swimwear and lingerie say it for me. Swimwear because
I have a "Baywatch" type figure and lingerie because it is so
feminine. What
has been your most exciting gig as a model? I sometimes have
to dress up in strange costumes for photo shoots to update my membership site
like a police woman or bunny girl. These are heaps of fun and I really relate
to the costume I'm wearing, usually off camera though driving everyone around
me nuts but it's so much fun and I make everyone laugh. What
is your most important goal in life as a woman? To be successful
at what I do. I'm also a hair stylist which I enjoy very much, so to remain successful
at modeling and as a hairdresser, are important goals for me to maintain. What
is the biggest misunderstanding about yourself? Some people
seem to think as a model I'm treated differently or special because I'm in the
limelight whereas really I'm just an ordinary girl with exactly the same
general lifestyle, including problems, as other girls. Some aspects are different
for sure, personal care, exercise and diet, but I'm still just little 'ole me. Who
have been some of your main influences? Definitely my photographer,
webmaster and promoter Simon. He has been the strength behind me all the way through
thick and thin. Tell
me about your upcoming projects, activities and or events Usual
local photo shoots. A shoot to do for a book reviewing a film and some swimwear
work for a catalogue and then it's off to California later in the year to follow
up on film and modeling industry professionals requests to meet me, so I'm looking
forward to that one! All
