Internext
is what's Next
Las Vegas -- Sin City, Las Vegas, seemed the perfect fit for the first Internet adult industry convention of the 21st century. a cast of thousands came to show, party and mingle among the creme de la creme in biz. Internext, as is now called, it is the world's largest adult Internet/Audiotext tradeshow of it's kind. This event is known primarily as a place in which industry officials, business owners and individuals can network to make their businesses more efficient and of coarse, more profitable. "We all have one thing in common here", said Jeff Smith, a webmaster from Vancouver, Canada. "We all want to make the most of our opportunities on the web". The convention began officially on January the 4th, but folks were here in town way before the doors opened at the Sands Convention Center. Parties at the local Cheetah Club as well as in several different locations on the Venetian Hotel gave way to not only party in style, but to network as well. "This is a fun business, there is no doubt about that, but there is a lot of hard work that goes on here", said Jenny Morrison, a spoke person for an e-commerce credit company. "We put a lot of hours in just like any other person on any other industry. We just have a lot more fun doing it". The formerly known IA2000, now Internext is not only for the big porno conglomerates of the Adult Internet industry. The make up of the participants can be broken down into several groups of people all wanting the same thing, money, lots of it.
From the newbie webmaster to the huge Cyberotica, from the already established publications such as Playboy and Hustler to some well known main stream companies they are all looking to achieve the most punch for the buck. Alliances are formed and deals are made for the sake of profit. Capitalism and democracy are alive and kicking here at the ultimate online smut fest. Believe it or not, this convention is not all fun and games. Great in-depth seminars are given to those who attend and insights them in all aspects of the business. Whether it is content, legal advice, billing services, web hosting, age verification systems, traffic programs, the folks at Internext had the proven top talent to spread the good word. "This was a an eye opener for me", said Greg Fujimoto of Wham Bam, Thank You Mam Entertainment. "There are so many things a new person in this industry needs to know". Among other important issues discussed at the seminars were the highly debated and controversial 2257 legislation, the broadband revolution and child pornography.
