Pearl Jam's new single ready to roll
by: cece kegg-smith
Seattle
-- Pearl Jam has announced the title for their long awaited seventh studio
album named, Riot Act. The CD originally slated for a November 19 release
has been moved up a week to November 12. According
to the a band spokesperson;"everyone's so excited about it, so, why
wait?" The
first single "I Am Mine", will find its way to your favorite radio
stations and web sites by September 13th. If you are into purchasing the commercial
single, backed with a non-album track "Down", it will be available
October 8. Take
a look at the brilliant lyrics for "I Am Mine" though.
The times have definitely made this band reflect on our trouble times. Eddie
Vedder sings the song in an inward style. It truly is a gem of modern times. I
Am Mine - Pearl Jam
the selfish, they're
all standing in line faithing
and hoping to buy themselves time me, i figure, as each breath goes by i
only own my mind the north is to south what the clock is to time there's
east and there's west and there's everywhere life i know i was born and i
know that i'll die the in-between is mine i am mine
and
the feeling, it gets left behind oh the innocence lost at one time significant
behind the eyes there's no need to hide we're safe tonight
the
ocean is full cuz everyone's crying the full moon is looking for friends at
high tide the sorrow grows bigger when the sorrow's denied i only know
my mind i am mine
and the meaning, it gets left behind oh the
innocence lost at one time significance behind the eyes there's no need
to hide we're safe tonight whoa!
and
the feelings, they get left behind oh the innocence broken with lies significance
between the lines we may need to hide...
and the meanings, they get
left behind oh the innocence lost at one time we're all different behind
the eyes there's no need to hide

Pearl
jam's front man Eddie Vedder shows a great deal of passion and peaceful defiance.
His supporting cast show the necessary ability and skills to create a great sense
of synergy, while creating beautiful music. After
hearing "I Am Mine", and looking at the track listing,
I can honestly say; that I can't wait for Riot Act to come out.
This one could very well be their best album ever. *Contributors
to the artwork include, Jeff Ament, Brad Klausen and Blacksmith Kelly Gilliam.
