Are you Sick and Tired of LOUD PIPED BIKES?

will present a cross section of readers responses.

Let me just begin by saying that I am sick and tired of the loud pipes of motorcycles. My question is; aren't you?

Let me illustrate my grievance:

For the last few weeks I have been awaken by the infernal sounds of a motorcycle. It has not been a one time occurrence. In the contrary, it has been happening almost every night past 2am. That screeching sound it's really becoming an epidemic. I just want to able to sleep like everyone else.

"Are you Sick and Tired of loud piped bikes?"

"I think bikes need to be heard, but not at late hours of the morning when people are sleeping."

"There are alot of bikers that are jerks. They feel as if they own the road. Riding Harley's should be against the law."

"I don't think you have ever taken a ride on a bike Mr. Midori. Your comments are based on ignorance and lack of tolerance."

"The louder, the better, man!"

"I am totally in favor of banning motorcycles all together. Haven't you heard that automobiles have been invented?"

"There is nothing more beautiful than the roar of a Harley Davidson motorcycle."

I have spoken with my neighbors and we all agree that it has become very bothersome. We have talked to the police as well, but as it usually happens, the nights that they are patrolling the area, the jack asses are a no show.

It's like they are one of the same, after all some of them ride bikes like Erik Estrada did on CHiP's. The truth is that it just kept on going for way too long. If my car's muffler was dented or broken, the police would bust me in no time for noise pollution. So why can't they do the same with these small penis vandals.

I know that alot of the easy rider types are going to say that bikes need to be heard. One thing is to be heard for safety reasons, another all together is to make a spectacle. If that is your game, all I have to say to you is; not at in my neighborhood. Not at 2am!

Don't get me wrong, I like to take the open road on a Harley Davidson every once in a while like the rest of the American people. I know that the majority of bikers follow the rules and laws of the road. This issue is not with them.

What do you think of the loud pipes? Should they be banned? What should we do about it?
